El Nido (officially the Municipality of El Nido) is a Spanish word means “The Nest”. It is a first class municipality and managed resource protected area in the province of Palawan. It is known for its white-sand beaches, coral reefs and as the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago, a group of islands with steep karst cliffs. Located at the northwestern most tip mainland of Palawan, it is bordered by the Linapacan Strait in the North, Sulu Sea in the East, and the West Philippine Sea in the West.
